Three New Babies

Lookee at what I 'found'.

These little ladies are of the 'Light Brahma' persuasion. It has been a few years since I've owned this brand. They grow-into such beautiful chickens; and the previous ones were so nice and caring.

+++ I remember when one of the other chicken became ill, [that she had grown-up with] it was the Brahma that would often sit with her in a seemingly nursing manner.

Is This The Longest Chicken Egg, Ever ?

Today, when I went to release the hens from their nighttime 'secure area', I found a super long egg.

I've found oversized eggs before; but I think that this one creates a record.

I'm not sure of which one laid the egg. However, I am able to limit it down to three of the ten hens. Guess I'll be making omelet from just this one alone. When I crack it, I will notice whether two or three yolks are inside.

Curious Chickens !

I was in the backyard with my trusted camera, and noticed that the chickens were starring at the camera and I in a curious manner. I decided to capture the moments.

Just a few of my chickens - doing what chickens do.

Grazing in the Grass.

On a Saturday evening.

They are almost five months old, here.

From my garden as of yesterday, on one stalk.

I only use chicken manure from my chickens, as fertilizer.

These are just some of the girls. They are about five months old.

I absolutely love banana peppers.

☺️It's planting time.

I love gardening.

I do all of my digging with my trusty shovel.

I think that I added a few more photos here that weren't in my first gardening post of this season.

The girls / chickens loves helping.  They even offer additional fertilizer while I dig.

The beets, garlic and white potato are strays that I threw in - leftover from store purchases.

The above will become fertilizer.  (I covered it after I finished digging.)

We found numerous earthworms.

It's  G A R D E N  Season  Again

I finally got around to picking up my hoe, shovel, rake, and began the digging.

The beets, a small white potato or two, and the garlic somehow survived the Winter.

I show you "before" and "after" photos to clarify the amount of work that was done solely by me. -and within three hours, this April 16, 2019.

The girls / chickens were in earthworm heaven during the digging.

There were so many earthworms. I think that the girls received a month's supply this one day.

About halfway through Plot 1.

The grass was beautiful; but, had to go.

Oh the smell of fresh Earth.

After "Plot 1" was completed, I threw a few cabbage, carrot and sweet potato hulls in -that will be covered and become fertilizer.

...and, now to planting the bare areas - and then to Plot 2.
