So you wanna know what I feed the girls (chickens).

Only four of the girls are in this photo.

When the girls aren't out grazing for grass, sand and dirt, I feed them this fantastic corn, wheat, barley mixture.

My guess is that they much prefer grazing. They can hardly wait to get out in the yard everyday. I usually gather from two to five eggs daily. I think that they like laying fresh eggs for mommy.

  1. That corn, wheat and barley mixture sounds good to me. Love the photos

  2. love the chicks pics. miss my days in the country side. am in the city right and after two am going back to where i came from and emjoy nature, animals, everything. have a happy day, thanks for sharing.

  3. I admire those who garden successfully or raise animals. Sounds like you take very good care of "the girls." :)

  4. Hi Lynda, Gemini and Poetic. Thanks for your lovely comments.
Yes, I do try and take good care of the girls. They absolutely fresh dugs worms more than ANYTHING. Needless to say, I do a lot of digging.

Yep, Gemini, there's nothing like growing up in the country life. I'm so happy that I had that experience.
