This was my first attempt at making this particular quilt top details.

 

I have made Rail Fence tops, but not with the diamonds.

 Black Turkey Red White ~ Hand Embroidered ~ Quilt Blocks

 

 

Apprx. 12 x 12 inches, each block.

 

 

 

I free-hand drew the hearts, and then hand-embroidered them.

 

No two are exactly alike.

 

I love doing hand-embroidery.

 

I used two strands of embroidery floss in this process.

Great for Dandelion, Birds and Sunflower lovers and everyone.

 

Lovely colors.

 

I always try to make the back - appearance as neat as possible. 

(Some fabrics ravel more than others.)

Pinwheel blocks can be arranged several different ways that will achieve totally different looks.

I have made many log cabin blocks during my sewing career.

 

 

 

Love the gold - accented leaves and berries.

The centers were not fussy cut.

 

This is the second set, in this same color - scheme.

Grass - Eating Chickens

 

 

Did you know that chickens love eating grass?

 

Two of my free - range hens paired-up for a Grass Hoot-Nanny today.

They forgot to notice that I was photographing them.

 

Not only do chickens scratch in the dirt for worms; but they enjoy the fresh greens and chlorophyll as well.

 

How To Stop His Snoring

 

I created this humorous quilt top, that could cause laughs, no matter how bad the day.

 

This is an Irish Chain quilt top with three borders.

The centers of the 9-patch blocks are black.

One of the borders is/are black.

"How To Stop His Snoring" is the secondary name of the fabric.
