It's Acorns and Leaves Season

I created this quilt top, from start to finish; and used my imagination as I proceeded.

 All great quality fabrics. There are two shades of solid browns in this quilt top. The leaves fabric is by Maywood.

 

You'll notice the gold glitter highlighted reddish acorn fabric.

This quilt top can be extended to any size.

 

You can do bluework, redwork or other embroidery in the solid white squares.  Make this a family heirloom. Use it throughout the year. Great for a wall, lap, crib, wheelchair  quilt.

     

It's a Puppy Dog World

Approximately  51  x  40 1/2  inches wide

I made this lovely Single Irish Chain quilt top, with good quality NEW cotton fabrics.

 

Who let the dogs out???  >>ROOF. ROOF.

 

The inner border is a chocolate brown color.

 

In addition to dogs and puppies, you'll find ducks, flowers, butterflies, ponds and perhaps a bit more.

 

If this size is too small for your need, there is a host of colors on this quilt top; therefore, you can have fun finding a matching fabric and enlarging this to the desired size.

This quilt top can be enlarged to any desired size. It should be fun going through your stash, or, spending a few hours at the fabric store making your selection. (no amount of time spent in a fabric store is too long-is it?? )

I created this without the use of a pattern. (as is with most of my items) I did the math and took notes as I proceeded. It took me over seven and a half hours to make this one.

Make Me Pretty, Makeup Container Purse Bag

 

The "Make Me Pretty" embroidery is my original idea.

I've been at the sewing machine again; and have decided to update my blog. (it has been lonely without me)

The past few weeks, I've been creating beautiful new scrappy make-up bags and wristlets. You'll find links to a few of them here.

Stars are Sometimes Country Scrappy and Sawtooth

After some time, perhaps too much time, I'm updating my, no doubt, feeling abandoned blog. May I never allow so much time again to pass without a hither or a haw. I finally finished and listed on Etsy a Sawtooth Star Quilt Top that I had some fun in making.

 

 

I can't say that the total experience, though I love sewing, was fun. In my effort to perfect the quilt top, I seam ripped some of the borders around the blocks a few times. (I don't think that quilters every enjoy ripping seams)

 

 

If I do say so myself, I think that I did a pretty-good job in centering the post in the shabby, multi-colors sashing, as the above photo shows.

 

 

This quilt top is composed of only four LARGE scrappy sawtooth stars. I love doing scrappy pieced work-so soothing.  
 

Did you realize that there are FIVE borders on this quilt top? -Count them if you can.

It's all coming back to me now. Updating this blog used to be such a nerve-wrecking task, that I wanted to update more often was outweighed by the hair-pulling errors that I would often constantly receive while updating. Now I remember why I hadn't updated in so long!!!
