I attached colorful strips of cotton fabric to the backgrounds.

 

With the raw-edge method, I then hand-appliqued hearts to the fronts of these lovely placemats.

 

The beautiful borders are double-bind with red fabric. 

 

The backs are done in a gorgeous farm scene.

Each mat is approximately 19 1/2 x 14 inches.

 

I've listed three mats here, that I hand appliqued, using the raw edge method.

The hand-appliqued apple stitching  was done so as to show on the back of the work.

 

 

 

Ever Cooked Fish Casserole?

That's what is currently giving my oven a work-out.

 

The ingredients are: fish, broccoli, cauliflower, purple onion, carrots, cilantro, garlic, salt, pepper, etc.

 

 

Done, and partially ingested.  Yummy.

 

 

 

Pinwheels

Quilt Blocks.

Black and white with dandelions.

 

I have made many a pinwheels; and love doing them.

Annie's Choice Quilt Block

12 x 12 inches.

 

This is my first attempt at making this particular quilt block; and it turned out quite proper.

 

 

 

I did not work from a pattern, and on my first try, the block turned out to be only 6 1/4 by 6 1/4 inches. My attempt was for a block that would be, at least, ten inches. (guess I should return to math school)

 

Loving the black and white, and the dandelions.

My big and long Banana Pepper

 

 

I actually grew a banana pepper in my garden, that amazed me.

 

It is over six inches long, over an inch wide.

 

 

I've already enjoyed it with my dinner. It was delicious.

Quilt Top Blocks

These blocks are 12 x 12 inches each.

 



 

I enjoy making challenging quilt blocks, and these, somewhat, are.

 

Though I draw lines for the HST's,  oh well, again, these are somewhat challenging to make.

There are the 9-patch centers, where the seams should match as closely as possible; then, the extra rows must be added on -or some sewers might go row by row when constructing these blocks. I find it easier to do the 9-patch unit first; and then add the other pieces.

These are 12 x 12 inches.

 

The solid color is a beautiful purple.

 

It had been a few months since I'd made Sister's Choice blocks.

These turned out wonderful.

These are approximately 13 1/4 x 13 1/4 inches each.

Pretty alternate white on white tonal fabric.
